music and arts education for every child.”
– Joe Lamond, President, National Association of Music Merchants

Notes for Notes is, in its current stage of development, a very small grass roots organization with a very big dream. If the program founders are given the means to fully realize their vision, the program will spread nationwide, affording regular, free access to music education and music-making opportunities for children across America. As music programs continue to be excised from school curriculum, Notes for Notes will fill the void, ensuring that no child is denied the opportunity to experience the life-altering power that music can provide.

To realize this vision, Notes for Notes has adopted a “franchise” model. Over the next two years, they will fine-tune their efforts at the local level—establishing relationships with city officials, obtaining support from musical instrument manufacturers, creating fundraising plans, detailing venue and staffing requirements, and developing educational curriculum and programs. They will then package their successes so that they can be handed off to other like-minded organizations throughout the nation.

In this model, Notes for Notes will grow to be a nationally prominent organization. While local Notes for Notes franchises will be responsible for program execution and quality in their area jurisdictions, the Notes for Notes parent company will maintain oversight over all local area programs that are part of their franchise network. This structure will help to to ensure consistency in program quality, adherence to the core precepts of the Notes for Notes mission, and success at the local level.

It is this organization’s belief that diligent adherence to their business model, coupled with their passion and enthusiasm for their mission, that music education will remain a vital and vibrant part of children’s lives.
