Notes for Notes is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation and operates in accordance with all necessary and appropriate government regulations. It works closely with community leaders and institutions (e.g., Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation) and has a Board of Directors comprised of Santa Barbara residents who possess valuable knowledge and experience and represent diverse educational, musical,
and business disciplines.

Founders

Philip Gilley is the co-founder and Executive Director of Notes for Notes. In addition to his involvement with Notes for Notes, Philip is an active member of the Santa Barbara Big Brothers Program. He has been playing guitar for six years and drums for two years. Philip has seen first-hand the extraordinary positive influence music-making can have on the lives of children, and is committed to bringing that opportunity to as many children as possible. Daniel DeAngelis is the co-founder and Program Director at the MusicBox.  Daniel has also been a regular participant in the Big Brothers Program and has been playing guitar for two years.  He is extremely skilled in digital recording and aspires to have a career in music production. Like his partner, Daniel is passionate about bringing music-making opportunities to all youths. Email Daniel
