Charity Ward

Area Director

Charity grew up in Detroit where her love for soul music was birthed. Her adolescent appreciation for Stevie Wonder and John Mayer led her to songwriting and the guitar. She majored in English and Africana Studies and earned a minor in Commercial Music at the historically Black college Tennessee State University where her passion for culture and community grew immensely. After graduating and spending three years serving underprivileged youth in Nashville, Charity returned to her hometown to continue serving youth through the means of music in her native community as the Program Director of the Notes for Notes Detroit Studio.
Charity is also pursuing a career in music as a performing and recording artist and is currently signed to Detroit based label Original 1265 Records where she recently released her debut EP entitled “Yellow” which offers to her beloved city and to its listeners a sentiment of happiness and of love.

Cameron Cassell

Program Director

Cameron was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but moved to Nashville, Tennessee at a young age. The fact that Nashville is Music City fueled Cam’s passion to surround himself with music.

At the age of 15 Cam’s parents brought home an iMac which introduced him to the creative programs of Garageband and iMovie. During Cam’s years attending Hillwood Comp High School he started to produce music and videos while also attending choir and “rock band” classes in his school.

By senior year (2013) Cam formed a duo with his friend (Current Nashville North Program Director) Will Flores. A few weeks after singing and playing music together the two were invited to the Nashville North N4N Studio. From that day on Cam was involved and totally behind the mission of Notes for Notes. His passion for music grew just as the organization did, giving both Cam and Will opportunities to perform and improve their skills as Musicians/Producers.

In 2015 the duo became program directors of the Nashville North Studio. At this time Cam learned what it meant to be a mentor and how to direct a studio. The two worked towards running their own individual studios and now do just that. Cam is now the Program Director/Producer at the Nashville South Studio.

“It inspires me to look back on where I have come from in my life to now and to see that same potential in each youth that enters the studio.” – Cam
